A month ago, I attended a global live stream education event hosted by Michael Dueñas from Support Creatives, a non-profit project of GVNG.org supporting the beauty industry. This one was "A Journey Around the World" co-hosted by artist and entrepreneur, Danessa Myricks, whose intent was to also raise funds to donate to NAACP (The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People).
I chose to attend the event for many reasons, but I want to start by sharing Danessa is quite remarkable! Apart from the fact that she has a range of experiences in the beauty industry (from co-creating with global brands, Kiss, Benefit Cosmetics and Limelight by Alcone to having her makeup line), Danessa has such a sweet and giving online persona. I'm convinced she is like that in person too! Attending the event was an opportunity to engage in a global conversation around beauty, trend and artistry. It was a complete pleasure because I found the sessions to be informative, artistically inspiring, and responsive to the attendees' needs. Each session involved a different makeup artist using Danessa Myricks products, and those I had a chance of seeing in action, Victoria Grosu and Andy Alexis Maquillador were SO talented.
The fun part is that Danessa shared a special discount with her attendees, which naturally led to a mini haul for the makeup kit. I not only liked what I learned in the makeup demonstrations but I strongly connect with Danessa's philosophy in her makeup line that is seeing beauty having no boundaries! I picked up a bunch of products and wanted to share my favourites below to pick them up too to create some beautiful looks on yourself or your clients this season. If you're in North America, all the products below can be purchased online from www.danessamyricks.com.

Illuminating Veil
This product is a liquid highlighter that comes in nine shades (Luna is offered in a limited edition mini only). Who doesn't enjoy healthy glowing skin? I was excited to find that the line provided minis (10 mL) in a trio set with shades, "Luna", "Radiance" and "Synergy". It's a great way to try some popular shades that work on light, medium and dark skin tones instead of purchasing the 30 mL product. "Luna" is a champagne highlighter, "Radiance" has a bronze-gold finish and "Synergy" is an opulent lilac pink with silver shimmer. These shades are gorgeous and apply incredibly smooth and creamy. The consistency is light and does not include grainy glitter (which doesn't always feel great on the skin and tends to transfer). But what I love most is that these shades can be used all over the face and body for a natural glow that can be subtle or dramatized with added layers. I highly recommend radiance for some added sun-kissed beneath moisturizer and foundation this summer. Tip: you can even use this on décolletage, arms and legs for that "went on vacation" look in this time of limited travel.
Sadly, the mini veil trio for USD 30 is sold out at this time. However, you can still purchase available individual minis here.
And available full-sized products here.

Waterproof Cream Palette – Fire & Ice
This six-shade cream palette in "Fire & Ice" is HOT. I've worked with and used many different cream highlighters before, e.g., from brands Fresh, MAC, Benefit and Fenty Beauty to name a few, and I can recognize a solid cream highlighter when I find one! There are not that many cream waterproof highlighters out there, which is why this product is so unique to me. These have high pigment (some like liquid eyeshadow), apply smoothly, and the best part is waterproof! I also like that they are multi-purpose and buildable, which means you can work with them to use below or on top of other products, e.g., foundations and eyeshadows, and blend with different shades in the palette as their consistencies are similar.
My favourites from this palette are sunset in a true bronze shade, and "moonlight", a silver with light pink shimmer (reminds me of MAC "Vex" eyeshadow). Both of these shades give a high dimension dewy glow.
You can purchase this cream palette along with four other palette shades here for USD 36.

Love & Light Beauty Oil – Sunray
I left one of the best for last, which is this unique dry beauty oil in beautiful peachy gold shade. This product is easy to work with as it doesn't leave a mess and hydrates skin without leaving an oily residue. It can be used on its own on top of moisturizer, or beneath/with a foundation for radiance. This product's finish is like having some good colour to the skin with soft dust of golden flecks all over (think micro shimmer in powders). Danessa shared that it can work with all skin types, including oily skin, during the event, and although I have yet to give it a try, I am looking forward to it. This beauty oil also comes in three other shades, but Sunray is excellent if you or your light-medium skin tone clients are looking for a healthy golden glow.
Love & Light Beauty Oil is USD 30 and can be purchased here.
